Terms of Service
1. Acceptance of terms
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern access to and use of the Palota Private Tutoring website, unit request form, tutoring coordination, and related educational services operated by Palota Private Tutoring Kft. ("Palota", "we", "us" or "our").
By submitting a request, booking a package, or using our services, you confirm that you have read and agree to these Terms. If you arrange tutoring for a student, you confirm that you have authority as a parent, guardian, or responsible adult to do so.
2. The service
Palota provides structured private tutoring packages, including 6-lesson unit packages for Cambridge IGCSE and other school subjects where available. Packages may include tutor-led sessions, syllabus mapping, progress notes, active recall support, and Proftor-powered parent or student visibility.
Availability of subjects, tutors, schedules, and in-person or online delivery may change. A website enquiry does not guarantee a confirmed booking until we have accepted the request and agreed the schedule and payment terms.
3. Bookings and payment
Unless agreed otherwise in writing, tutoring packages are paid in advance after schedule confirmation and before the first session. We issue Hungarian electronic invoices. Prices shown on the website may be updated from time to time and apply only to new bookings unless otherwise agreed.
If a session must be rescheduled, both parties should provide reasonable notice. Detailed cancellation, rescheduling, or refund handling may be confirmed separately for each package.
4. Parent and student responsibilities
- Provide accurate information about the student's school year, subject, level, and teacher feedback.
- Ensure the student attends scheduled sessions on time and has appropriate materials available.
- Use Proftor or other learning tools responsibly where access is provided.
- Do not share login details, meeting links, teaching materials, or tutor contact details with unauthorised people.
- Tell us promptly about safeguarding, accessibility, or learning needs relevant to tutoring delivery.
5. Educational outcomes
We aim to provide structured, high-quality academic support. However, exam results, grades, admission outcomes, and school assessment outcomes depend on many factors outside our control. We do not guarantee a particular grade or result.
6. Proftor technology and AI support
Where Proftor technology is used, it supports lesson structure, progress visibility, and active recall practice. Any AI-assisted feedback or generated learning support is intended to assist students, parents, and tutors. It is not a substitute for professional educational judgement or school assessment.
7. Intellectual property
Palota, Proftor, tutors, and licensors retain ownership of their respective teaching materials, software, design, branding, and documentation. You may use materials supplied during tutoring for the student's personal educational use only, unless we agree otherwise in writing.
8. Acceptable use
You must not use the website, forms, tutoring sessions, or any provided learning system unlawfully, abusively, or in a way that disrupts service delivery, infringes third-party rights, compromises security, or harms Palota, Proftor, tutors, students, or other users.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Palota is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the website or services. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Hungary, unless mandatory consumer protection rules provide otherwise. We encourage you to contact us first so we can try to resolve any issue informally.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated terms will be posted on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Material changes will apply prospectively unless applicable law requires otherwise.
